JOSEPH KARPYZA
Joseph will be greatly missed by his wife of 65 years, Kay; sons, John (Eva) and Tony (Jill); daughter Barbara (Bernie); grandchildren, Jessica (Chad), Alex (Lisa) and Kyle (Amanda), and great-grandchildren, Ruby, Nash and Kiplin.
At age 17 Joseph enlisted in the Polish unit of the British army so that he could serve his country during the Second World War. After the war, he came to Winnipeg, where he met Kay. Joseph was a steel worker at Manitoba Bridge until his retirement. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, loved to spend time at the lake with his family and friends. Once retired, he embarked on a new career as a farmer in the Beausejour area, where he took care of the animals, his bees and the fields. He especially loved when his grandchildren would visit him at the farm as there was everything from cows, pigs, chickens, dogs and cats for them to see and enjoy.
We would like to thank the staff at East Gate Lodge in Beausejour for their kindness and compassion during his stay with them.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, July 8, at 10:00 a.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main Street in Winnipeg.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society.
