Condolences & Memories (17 entries)

  • One evening some years ago at a McNally Robinson bookstore book launch of student art and writing, I had a chance meeting with Kwun. Both of our children were featured in this book from their high school. He was very proud. Then several years later when I changed departments at the College and started working in ITS I realized just how incredible it was to happen upon Kwun, as others have mentioned. He was a very nice man with a quick wit and a very calm and gentle presence. He has been missed since his retirement. My sincere condolences to his wife Susan, his children Emily and Mitchell, and to his extended family. - Posted by: Diana (Co-worker) on: Jul 15, 2019

  • So sorry to hear of Kwun's passing, my sincerest condolences to the family. I loved working with Kwun. He worked two cubicles over mine. He was always such a happy go-lucky guy and loved that he had the spirit of Halloween. I remember the year, he dressed up as a monk/priest and I was the nun. We didn't even plan that costume. Rest in Peace Kwun, you will be missed by all your colleagues and family and friends. Louie - Posted by: Luigina (Louie) Girden (Co-worker in ITS at RRC) on: Jul 14, 2019

Kwun helped me through a very difficult personal time at the College, always there to make me laugh or share a cup of coffee and talk, I will forever be grateful for his support. My heart goes out to Susan, Emily and Mitchell. He spoke often of his family, his love for you was always present. - Posted by: Debbie Baxter (Co-worker and friend) on: Jul 12, 2019

  • I am so very sad to hear of Kwun’s passing. I worked with him at Red River College and loved his humor, wit and friendship. I became guardian of his much loved and very weird plant (Seymour) when he retired. It has since taken over my office and is a lovely reminder of Kwun who told me he received it from a family member. If any of the family would like a piece of the plant to grow at home, I can be reached through Kwun's brother. My thoughts are with your family - Posted by: Dorothy Ford (Co-worker) on: Jul 08, 2019

  • Deeply saddened to hear of Kwun's passing. My most heartfelt sympathies to the whole family, especially Mitchell and Emily whom Kwun was very proud of. I have known Kwun for 25 years working together at RRC. I will remember him fondly as the biggest social butterfly I've ever known. He had many friends at RRC and was well known at being able to scope out free food wherever and whenever an event was happening. I was sad to see him retire but he didn't let any of his closest friends miss him too long as he made sure to keep in touch and even came back to play pickleball at lunch hours. We will all miss him terribly. - Posted by: Christine Siewert (Friend/co-worker) on: Jul 08, 2019

You will be missed my friend. Good night. - Posted by: Cheryl Sawka (Co-worker, friend) on: Jul 08, 2019
