MABEL ALICE MCKNIGHT
Born May 16, 1923 in Winnipeg to Clementine and William Firth, Mom lived most of her life in Winnipeg. In 1943 Mom married our father Colin McKnight, who predeceased her in August 1985. Mom lovingly raised and is survived by all her 10 children, Bill (Sandy), Terry Peemoeller (Hartwig), Linda Smith (Randy), Donna McKnight (Ron MacDonald), Valerie O'Connor (Dean), Sharon Lemay (Jeff), Brian (Mary Peixoto), Mark (Naomi), Ross and Debbie Koniuck (Mike). Mom leaves 21 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Mom also spent 15 years in BC finding new adventure and was fortunate to find and renew old love with her high school sweetheart, Judd Egan. They spent many happy years together until Judd passed in 2011. Mom moved back to Winnipeg to be with family shortly after.
Mom devoted her life to her 10 children, loving us unconditionally, feeding, dressing, hugging and kissing away our hurts. She gave us music - singing us oh so many songs and dancing with each and every one of us.
Thanks must be made to our sister, Debbie, for her devotion to Mom during the last six months, selflessly spending countless hours visiting and loving Mom. Thanks go to our brother Mark for providing a home to Mom for four years and lovingly tending to her after she suffered a series of strokes. Thanks to our brother Ross for being there when needed and for making Mom laugh.
Thank you to the nurses, care-aides, doctor and all the staff at Oakview Place for the care and comfort given to Mom these past six months.
Love you Mom.
We know you are now happily singing
and dancing your way around Heaven!

Dear McKnight Cousins, I am very sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. Although it has been many years since I have seen her, I remember her as a sweet, soft spoken lady.
