HARVEY DONALD LUTZ

Peacefully in his 87th year, Harvey Lutz passed away with the knowledge that his family loved him and treasure him in their hearts.
He was predeceased by his parents, Adam and Emma Lutz of Winnipegosis and his parents-in-law, Albert and Kay Westfall of Ashern.
Harvey is survived by his wife Joyce and their two children, Brad (Jen) and Liana (Nancy); three grandchildren, Adam, Ben and Calvin; his sister Bernice Hrushowy and his nephews, Brian and Wayne; and cousins and friends from the Interlake.
Dad was born on the homestead in Camper on November 1, 1932 and grew up on the farm to the age of 15 when he started work with MTS putting up poles across the Interlake. Dad then moved to Winnipeg and worked for National Cartage, as a truck driver before marrying Mom, on September 20, 1958. They lived happily on Monck Avenue for a couple of years before moving to Hazel Dell. Dad then worked for F G Maxwell and later Canfor as warehouse foreman till he retired at the age of 55.
Dad loved to play pool, bowl and took up golfing thanks to the Mehners on Leighton Avenue. BBQs in the summer and a cold bottle of beer was always a weekend activity, 3-D puzzles were a fun pastime and watching the Jets and Blue Jays on TV were always a must.
There will be a meet and greet to share stories and memories on Thursday, July 11, 2019 at Friends Funeral Service, 2146 Main Street, Winnipeg from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Lakeside Cemetery Maintenance Fund in care of Arnasons, Attn. John Gray, P.O. Box 672, Ashern, MB R0C 0E0 or a charity of your choice.
