Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or Memory
DARYL SHANE TURNER
He was predeceased by his father Dick Turner. He will be missed by his mother Marg; sister Lori Pokornik (Mike); nephew Connor; niece Hailey; and many other family and friends.
Daryl grew up in St. James where he graduated from John Taylor Collegiate. He was always at the top of his class and received many academic awards. This dedication to excellence transferred over to his career at what is now known as KPI Direct, where he worked for over 17 years. His knowledge, patience and humour allowed him to establish special friendships with colleagues. He loved his job and the people with whom he worked.
Daryl was an avid sports fan and memorabilia collector, especially of the Jets and Bombers. He was not shy to share his opinions and would show no mercy to the rookies who took him on. He had an amazing ability to recall obscure facts and statistics, much to the dismay of anyone trying to best him in a sports-related debate.
Daryl's quick wit, infectious smile, and kind and compassionate spirit made him a wonderful and supportive son, brother, friend and colleague. His most cherished role was that of uncle to Connor and Hailey. Daryl, we will carry you in our hearts forever.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of choice.
A private Celebration of Life will be held.

I'm way late to the party here but I knew Daryl from our local BBS community here in Winnipeg. Friendly, compassionate and super smart - way ahead of most of us online minions. He was almost always a fixture at local gatherings of members of the BBS and computer clubs and always willing to help or offer his advice. Condolences to his family and friends. Gord (aka. Dear Marg and Lorie, my sincere condolences. I first met Daryl in the little hollow of lilac bushes next to our old house on Roblin, beside Aunt Joyce and Uncle Edward. I think that Tim, Deb, Eric and I were playing marbles. It was a really hot day, and he was shirtless. We all wished we were too and started pealing off our shirts. He joined right in and was said to be our new cousin. I recall a Christmas in the basement of the farmhouse where he was gleefully leading the crew in the Chicken dance. Everyone was having fun, and chiefly, Daryl! Thinking of you at this most difficult time. Kind regards, Craig - Posted by: Craig Fossay (Cousin) on: Jul 20, 2019
