With great sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Bruce (Bud) Monteith Miller, born in Kamloops, BC, May 29, 1935.
After a brief illness, he will be missed dearly by his loving family, wife of over 62 years, Gaye, daughters, Lynn (David), Kathy (Rick) and Judy (Dave) and son Edward (Leanne) and as well 11 wonderful grandchildren and in the last year, three great-grandchildren.
Bud's 33-year career as a musician was both productive and rewarding taking him around the world several times playing from Egypt and Germany to Carnegie Hall. His warm, compassionate smile, engaging personality and strength of character not only made him many friends along the way but left a lasting legacy on those that knew him and especially on those dear to him. He lives on in their hearts and in their memories. Bud was an exceptional father and family leader and possessed an impeccable moral compass that will continue to help guide his family and all those that knew him.
Our family wishes to express the utmost thanks and appreciation to all who helped us through the difficult times.
A private family memorial is planned.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • Our condolences to Gaye and all the Miller family. Bud was a friend for many years while serving with him in the R.C.A.F. Air Command Band and after he retired from the Forces. A most talented man, a very fine musician (trumpet) and Bud was also a very skilled renovator of houses. We just very recently learned from Gaye of Bud's passing. Dede and I developed a very fine friendship with Bud and Gaye just before we moved out here to Victoria. Bud was a very kind and good man. RIP. Bud.
