BELVA STEEPLE
Belva was predeceased by her parents, Charles Steeple in 1944 and Amy Steeple (née Cooper) in 1995.
Belva will be lovingly remembered and very much missed by her only brother Charles (Charlie) Steeple.
Charlie and Belva were the closest of friends and enjoyed many wonderful adventures travelling to both the East and West Coasts of Canada and through the beautiful provinces between them. They ventured to Churchill and Europe and have a large collection of photos capturing their memories.
Belva wrote thoughtful letters keeping friends and family up to date and many of their friends from abroad write them to this very day.
In her working years, Belva was employed by the Canadian National Railroad as was her father before her. Train-travel passes meant for countless memorable trips to visit family in BC.
Belva was adept at playing the piano and loved music immensely, which is evident by her collection of music books and albums. She kept a beautiful yard full of flowers and trees.
Belva's extended family would sincerely like to thank Hillary Beatty, Bob MacKenzie and the staff at the Poseidon Care Home for the care Belva received in her final years.
A memorial service will be held on August 2 at 10:00 a.m. at Thomson "In the Park" Funeral Home, 1291 McGillivray Boulevard.

In my youth, it was an annual event that Auntie Amy, Charlie and Belva would be coming for their visit to Vancouver. It was with great excitement that we anticipated these visits. We will both miss her and the kind and loyal contact that she maintained with us over the years. Is is only in the last two years that we did not receive a Christmas letter and when we were younger, she did not miss a birthday. It is sad that she is no longer with us. Her Vancouver family remember this lively and dear lady with with great fondness. Were our father still alive, he would add his sorrow at her passing, as they were very close. - Posted by: Barbara Harlos (My sister Cathy and I are daughters of Belva's cousin Garnet Marsh.) on: Jul 22, 2019

On behalf of my mother, Angela Winiarz, and our family, we would like to express our sadness at the passing of dear Belva. She was my mother’s roommate at Poseidon for over a year, and made my Mom feel less alone by her presence. Belva was a sweet and gentle soul who touched all our hearts. Rest In Peace Belva.
