DOLORES (DOLLY) CHABLUK
(RATTE)

It is with great sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother and sister, on July 11, 2019, at the age of 75 years.
In St. Boniface, on April 22, 1944, Dolly was born into a home filled with love. Her parents and four older siblings doted on her. She was the "baby" until the birth of her younger brother 12 years later. Dolly married her first husband Allan Toews in 1968. In 1971, they had a daughter (Nicole). Sadly, Dolly was widowed a few months later. With the support of family, she rallied. In 1974, she married her second husband Peter Chabluk. They had two daughters (Andrea and Renée). Together, they raised their three girls in their Windsor Park home of 45 years. Dolly was a devout Catholic. She attended Catholic school, raised her children in the faith, and later worked for the Catholic School Board. She was a devoted wife to Peter. In their younger years, they enjoyed summers at the lake in the cottage they built together. In their retirement years, they enjoyed daily coffee with family, weekly church services and occasional outings to the casino. Dolly was a loving mother, often found squished between her girls on the couch. She was also a loving grandmother who enjoyed playing games, doing puzzles, and spoiling her grandchildren with candies and cookies.
Dolly was predeceased by her parents, Adélard and Georgette (Beaudin) Ratté; her first husband Allan, and several brothers and sisters-in-law.
She is survived by her loving husband Peter; her daughters, Nicole (Larry), Andrea (Chad), Renée (Ron), her nine grandchildren; and her siblings, Ida (Lawrence), Laura (Albert, deceased), Maurice (Dorothy), Alfred (Bonny) and Patrick (Kathy).

Baby, you will be missed.
Mom, your daily advice and unconditional love will forever be cherished.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 18, 2019 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood. Private interment will take place at Glen Lawn Cemetery at a later date.
Thank you to the Emergency and E6 staff at the St. Boniface Hospital for their exceptional care.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Dolly's name.

Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca.

  • Uncle Peter, Nicole, Andrea, Rene and family. I am so sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. Aunty Dolly was one of a kind. She was always so excited to see us when we gathered. She had a heart of gold. Always a big smile. She cared and showed compassion for others in their time of need. I don't ever remember her raising her voice or losing her temper. I never heard her judge people but always had positive things to say when she spoke of others. It was such a great thing when the two of you got married Uncle. My condolences to Aunty Ida, Moe, Laura, Freddy, Patrick and families. The world was a better place with Aunty Dolly in it and she will be sorrowfully missed. There will be a big void in our family birthday breakfasts. R.I.P. Aunty. - Posted by: Gary Chabluk (Nephew-in-law) on: Jul 13, 2019
