(nee DERBACH)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Bonnie on June 10, 2019.
Bonnie-Lynn Silver was born in Winnipeg on August 28, 1958 to her loving parents, "Terrie" and Dr. Bernard Derbach. Bonnie was predeceased by her father Bernard and grandparents, Mary Derbach and Ethel Dudek.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son Eston, daughter Brodie and son Dylan, her mom Theresa, and brothers, Bernard and Brian.
Bonnie grew up in St. James and as a young child Bonnie was a great athlete and renowned swimmer in both Manitoba and Canada. Always truly energetic, Bonnie had a natural work ethic and was always working at many jobs.
She graduated from Red River Community College with a diploma in Childcare Development, which was not surprising because in her life Bonnie's care for her three children was her whole world. Growing up Eston, Brodie and Dylan had the best mom in the world. Bonnie never missed any of their events. She was at every dance class, recital, school play and sporting event. She was their cheerleader, chauffeur, personal chef, best friend and confidante. Their home was always open for all of their friends and they too loved Bonnie. She always knew the gossip between friends first, and it wasn't rare to come home to find friends at the kitchen table talking with her. She would always give friends sound advice, or at least have them laughing.
Bonnie was the true definition of what a mother is supposed to be. She loved her children fiercely and she would defend them and come to their rescue whenever needed. She was a true Mamma bear and her children will carry her love with them forever.
It was only after two of the children were grown up, did Bonnie really make the difficult choice of finally directing some of her energy to her own career.
Bonnie found her true love in personal fitness training. She studied and completed her fitness certification and for many engaging years she spent her days helping others improve their lives through physical training at her own gym, known as the Silver Firm.
Through all of those years Bonnie's best friend was her dog named Gym, who was often heard welcoming her many daily clients with a bark.
Bonnie was the favourite Auntie to all her nieces and nephews and she had a special relationship with each and every one of them.
Bonnie was energetic, strong willed, smart, kind, and determined. She was dedicated to her family and they meant everything to her. She will be forever fondly remembered and truly missed as a loving mother, a wonderful daughter, sister, sister-in-law, daughter-in-law, cousin and a dear friend to many.
Interment has taken place. A family gravesite prayer service will take place on Bonnie's birthday in late August, 2019.
Rest in Peace Bonnie
