ANNIE JEANNINE ROSE MARIE BOYD
(nee BOWEN)
1934 - 2019
Mourning her passing are her children, Patrick (Brenda), James John, Joanne (Charlie), Bonny (Clifford), Mike (Rose Marie) and Sheila, 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Florence Richard. Mom was predeceased by her husband of 64 years, William Patrick Boyd, in 2016, parents, sisters, Jean Szydlik, Fernande Rasmussen and Adrienne Lee, and brother Peter Rodier.
Annie was born to Alexander and Florentine Bowen (Mongeon) in Camperville, Manitoba where she lived most of her early life. The fourth of six children, she was educated in Sainte Rose du Lac then moved to Winnipeg where she met and wed William Boyd in 1951 before he shipped off to fight in the Korean War. While raising her family, Annie worked at Plastic Film until she retired in 2003.
Mom was an outgoing, sometimes boisterous person who could and would talk to anyone who would listen. In the 1970s and early 1980s, we had a trailer at Lee River Falls where we spent most of our summers. Mom and Dad enjoyed the water, meeting with friends and family. Mom showed us that we could do anything and not to limit ourselves.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Bardal Funeral Home, 843 Sherbrook Street in Winnipeg.
Our family would like to give special thanks to the staff of Parkview Place, the St. Boniface Hospital ER as well as the B5 Medicine staff for their care in Mom's time of need.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a memorial donation to a charity of your choice.
