JOSEPH (MORLEY) BARRON
1946 - 2019

My soul is my true compass.
Lessons learned lead my actions.
Friends are my reward.
The loves in my life are my breath,
for which I live within them.
With them and through them
I will live forever.

Survived by his wife Donna; his daughter Tammy (Rudy) and his sister Connie (Garry). He was predeceased by his sister Elaine and parents, Joseph Elie Barron and Myrtle Bell Barron (nee Switzer).

Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • During the winter of 1963-64 I tried to run with Morley in the school halls. He was already 6’4” and a great athlete, so I tried to keep out of his way. He and Wayne Stephenson, who later played goal for the Philadelphia Flyers, ran the 440 at our track meet that year - I don’t know who won because I was too far behind to tell. Even Dennis Hyricako, who went on to great fame as a running back at U of M, didn’t want to run against the two of them. Morley was well respected as a basketball player. He was a nice guy. - Posted by: John Ellis (Grant Park High School) on: Jun 09, 2024

  • Rest in peace uncle. - Posted by: Richard Kehler (Barron) (Nephew) on: May 08, 2022

  • I am greatly sorrowed upon learning of Morley's passing. My condolences to his family and friends. He was by far the best hockey coach I ever had. He took me from the community club level to the first AAA league in Manitoba. Morley was a kind and compassionate soul. He was a mentor and father to me in youth. I will never forget how much he did for me .... whether it was picking me up for a ride to the game or buying a couple of us a burger and a milkshake for having a great game...or you know , even his booming voice coming across the ice from the bench: " HARVEY GET BACK ON YOUR WING.!!! "...It was ALL unconditional loving care. I will always remember him. - Posted by: A.James Harvey (Coached by Morley) on: Feb 10, 2021
