NELLIE KOKRAN
November 23, 1915 - July 16, 2019
Nellie was predeceased by her husband Joseph and all her siblings.
She was born of a Pioneer Family that came from Scotland and settled in Watrous, Saskatchewan. During the war Mom was in the Air Force then she moved to Winnipeg and married Dad.
She was a stay at home mother who sewed many of our clothes, including coats. Mom didn't use a pattern but made her own from newspaper. She also knit us sweaters without a pattern by just looking at pictures in the Eaton's catalogue. Mom made Barbie Doll clothes with left over material. The doll's suits even had lining.
Mom leaves to mourn three daughters, Pat (Gord), Jonell (Wade) and Rhonda, six grandchildren, Corinne (Wayne), Sheryl (Jay), Kelly (Shelley), Jenifer, Ryan (Jessica) and Meghan (Brian), 13 great-grandchildren, Chantel, Kristina, Justin, Austin, Steven, Kyla, Morgan, Macy, Mya, Korbyn, Olivia, Gwendolyn and Scarlett and two great-great-grandchildren, Kiah and Ayla, plus one cousin Joan (Bert) and numerous nieces and nephews.
Thanks to the staff of St. Joseph's Residence for their excellent care, warmth and compassion that they gave Mom.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service will take place.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation.

Dear Rhonda and family, My deepest condolences on the loss of your Mom. I remember your Mom sitting at the kitchen table while your dad was in the living room watching tv. The kitchen was always neat as a pin. Your Mom was always welcoming, and I am sure she dreaded us going upstairs so we could listen to the Goodbye Yellow Brick Road album over and over again! We really invaded her solitude! 104 years is an incredible milestone. Peace Dorian - Posted by: Dorian Audette (Friend) on: Aug 24, 2019

Our sincerest condolences to the Kokran family. Your mom was one of the most welcoming and kindest moms! Growing up with Rhonda since elementary, I have many fond memories of your house on Boyd Ave. With all the girls arriving at your house your mom always had the patience of gold...lol, because we were loud, much like a heard of cattle. She always had snacks for us, and was interested in us. Meeting her again when she lived on Watson it was like no time had passed. I have thought of her often since my dad's passing. Rest in peace Mrs. Kokran, may God welcome you home. - Posted by: Helga Malcolm (Schute) (Friend) on: Jul 29, 2019
