MARIA MACHEL
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Henry, children, Kurt (Silvana) and Harold (Yvonne), six grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also survived by her siblings, Walter (Angelika), Marten (Elvira), Magdelene Gollub, Martha Goetz, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by daughter Ruth and grandson Kevin Castellan, as well as her parents, Gastav and Anna Sudfeld, sister Hanna, and brothers, Wilhem and Werner.
Maria was born on March 23, 1931 in Westhoyal, Germany. She immigrated to Canada in 1957 and settled in Winnipeg. She was last employed at the Health Sciences Centre until her retirement. She always enjoyed time with family and friends. Maria was a devoted Christian who loved to sing and participated in many church activities.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, July 26, 2019 at St. Peter's Lutheran Church, 65 Walnut St., Winnipeg, with viewing at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow later at Brookside Cemetery.
Donations may be made to St. Peter's Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers.
