MARGARET CHRISTINA BILYK

Meg Bilyk passed away peacefully on Monday, July 8, 2019, at Prairie Lakes Hospice in Grande Prairie, AB, with her daughter, Christina, at her side.
Meg was born on January 4, 1936 in Winnipeg, MB, the only child to Harold and May Leon.
Meg spent many happy years hostessing at two of Winnipeg's finer restaurants, Pierre's, and Rae & Jerry's, before becoming a loyal employee of the Manitoba Liquor Control Commission. Upon her retirement, she spent countless hours volunteering with matters close to her heart including the Crohn's and Colitis, Prostate Cancer Foundations, Winnipeg Hospice Palliative Care and The Forks. She was an accomplished accordionist and enjoyed many types of dancing, including swing, clogging and line dancing.
She is survived by her three children: Marni (Alan) Karpiak, Christina Fyfe and Anthony (Alison) Toonstra; two granddaughters, Tierney and Connor Fyfe; great-granddaughter Sawyer Fyfe; and her late husband Arni's son, Greg (Coral) Bilyk and his family.
She was predeceased by her late husbands, Anton Toonstra and Arnold Bilyk.
There will be a private family service held at a later date at Winnipeg Beach.
