Ivan will lovingly be remembered and deeply missed by his wife of 51 years, Chris; daughters, Kim Prendergast (PJ) and Kelly Seneshen (Martin); grandchildren, Owen, Lucas, Lane, Levi and Grace; siblings, Lorne Seneshen (Carole), Ben Blake (Margaret) and Gloria Karsin (Grant); sisters-in-law, Darlene Kowalchuk and Sandi Kosowan (Rick) and his nieces and nephews.
Ivan was predeceased by his parents, Bella and Mike Seneshen, in-laws, Helen and Mike Moroz and his brother-in-law Bill.
Ivan and Chris were inseparable and spent their marriage treasuring everything they did together. In retirement Ivan and Chris discovered a love for travel and made many memories. Focused on family, Ivan was a proud father to his girls and was a very active grandpa.
Ivan made lifelong friends wherever he went. He will be fondly remembered for his easy smile, his sense of humour (with seemingly endless supply of bad jokes), his generous heart and his love of family.
Ivan was a hard worker and handy in everything he did - over the years there were many home repairs, decks, fence, painting projects and always grass to cut or snow to shovel. Ivan took pride in everything he did and his motto was, "do it right or don't do it at all." He always thought of others first and never turned down an opportunity to help.
An avid sports lover, Ivan spent countless hours playing baseball, hockey and curling. In more recent years Ivan thoroughly enjoyed watching his grandchildren's activities.
Ivan's family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to friends and family for the outpouring of sympathy, caring, friendship and love. The family would also like to extend a special thank you to the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service and St. Boniface Hospital for their efforts and kindness.
Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette Parish on Thursday, August 1, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. A private interment will follow at a later date.
If desired, donations may be made to CancerCare Manitoba Foundation or the Heart & Stroke Foundation in Ivan's memory.
Ivan will never be forgotten and will forever be in our hearts.

Condolences & Memories (15 entries)
Chris and family my deepest sympathy and prayers go out to you and family. I had the pleasure to work with Ivan at C.N. for a number of years and it was always enjoyable to work with Ivan and his sense of humor. I will miss chatting with Ivan from time to time on the phone or bumping into him at the mall or at the butcher store when we are buying some garlic sausage. My memory of Ivan dates back to when he was a teenager working at the Red River Ex. My friend and I met him while purchasing something from his booth. I was a very young teenager and immediately took a shine to him because he was so charming and good looking. We talked but never had the chance to ever meet up again. I always remembered him and often wondered about him. Now I see that he had a very fulfilling and happy life as have I. I am truly sorry to read that he has passed away and I wish to express my sincerest sympathy to his family. - Posted by: Violet (Former acquaintance ) on: Aug 03, 2019

Dear Chris and family, I am so very sorry to read about Ivan’s passing. You were both always so lovely to work with and truly counted as some of my favourite customers. Two things that stood out to me about Ivan from my time him is that he was always talking about his kids and his grandkids SO lovingly and that he was always giving me a hard time (in a totally light hearted/joking way). You are all in my thoughts, Erica - Posted by: Erica (Formerly of Birchwood Kia) on: Jul 30, 2019

Our deepest sympathy and prayers go out to your family and friends. Blessings, Cousins from Vancouver - Posted by: Helen and Terry Holden, Janice and Al Dudzic (Cousin in Vancouver) on: Jul 30, 2019
I am so sorry to hear of Ivan's passing. He and his family were my neighbours on Crestwood Cresc. many years ago. They were wonderful to me and my family. My thoughts and prayers are with you at this time of your loss. - Posted by: Sharon Alley (Neighbour) on: Jul 30, 2019
Mrs. Seneshen, Kim, Kelly and families please accept my deepest condolences on your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. May your memories and your faith give you comfort and strength as you journey through your grief. I will fondly remember the pride Mr. Seneshen took in your beautiful yard. Growing up in the neighborhood is was a common site to see him manicuring and working on that beautiful yard. I will share a quote that I took comfort in after my mom's passing, "Your wings were ready, but our hearts were not.". Take Care. - Posted by: Tanis Menheer (Penner) (Neighbor) on: Jul 30, 2019
