JANET BIDER
(nee HERRING)
Janet was predeceased by her parents, Robert and Janet Herring, husband Rubin, brother Jack, sister Phyllis Mastin, and sister-in-law Bessie Libin.
She leaves to mourn her brother-in-law Charles Mastin of Winnipeg, sister-in-law Vera Herring, nephew Lorne Herring, niece Valerie (Doug) Mair and great-nephew, Tyler of Ottawa and niece Laura (Yaron) Linett and great-nephew Ze'ev of Virginia.
In Calgary she leaves niece Cynthia (David) Prasow and great-nieces, Sarah (Ben) Ginzberg, their children, Sophie and Henry, Rachel (Jerrad) Blanchard, their children, Shiloh and Soleil, and great-nephew Adam (Margie) Maerov and their children, Josh, Jonah and Jordan. In Toronto she leaves her nephew Sheldon (Louise) Maerov, and great-nephew Simon Maerov (Kirsten).
As well she is survived by niece Cherryll Bider Lieberman (Les) of El Paso and nephew Les (Lynn) Bider of Beverly Hills.
Janet will also be remembered by her life-long friend Joan Phillips, and her friends from Marshall Wells, her church and other organizations.
Janet grew up in Elmwood and was a member of Gordon King Memorial United Church. She taught Sunday school, and was in C.G.I.T.
During the war she worked for the United Kingdom and the Canada Inspection Board at the Vulcan Iron Works. She started working at Marshall Wells in September, 1945 completing 38 years of service, with six years in Calgary where she lived after marrying Rubin Bider.
She volunteered for over 25 years at Seven Oaks Hospital in the gift shop, the Dugald Museum and the Craft Guild.
Thank you for the wonderful care from the staff, including Tammy and Lindsay, at Kildonan Long Term Care Home. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, and will always have a special place in our hearts as a caring, loving person.
Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 7, at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave., Winnipeg.
