JOYCE JESSIE MUSHUMANSKI
January 30, 1931 - July 24, 2019

Joyce Jessie Mushumanski was born on January 30, 1931 to Fred and Carrie Ewanchuk (nee Kotelniski) in the R.M. of Rossburn. She attended Glen Elmo and Lima schools. She married Felix Mushumanski in 1947. They had one son Julian.
Joyce and Felix farmed on his father's farm at NW 35-21-27 and grew registered seed. She was good at tying grain bags and pulling weeds. They worked hard, then sold their farm in 1975 to Julian and built their house in town. Joyce worked at the Russell Personal Care Home, did home care and also worked as a matron with the R.C.M.P.
Joyce enjoyed cooking, baking and gardening. She was a gracious hostess, always feeding people and letting them stay with her. She was a faithful member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church and belonged to the C.W.L. She provided flowers for the church and washed alter cloths. She also sang in the choir for many years. Joyce was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She spoiled us all rotten including Dad. The great grandchildren always knew she had ice cream and special treats for them in the candy closet and she adored her littlest great-grandchild Madelyn very much.
She is survived by her son Julian (Sandra); grandchildren, Christine Judd, Travis Mushumanski and Roxanne (Cam) McDougall; great-grandchildren, Jacob and Colin Judd and Madelyn McDougall.
She also leaves to mourn her sister Ella Ewanchuk, brother Nick Ewanchuk and sister-in-law Hazel Ewanchuk; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Felix Mushumanski; parents, Fred and Carrie Ewanchuk; sister and brother-in-law Lucy and Bill Chuckree; brother Steve Ewanchuk; sister Nancy Ewanchuk; sister Annie Maydaniuk and brother-in-law Walter.
The prayer service was held on Sunday, July 28, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Russell. The funeral service was held on Monday, July 29, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Russell with Father Paul Bisson officiating. Following the interment at Russell Memorial Gardens, a lunch was served by the C.W.L. ladies in the church hall.
If friends so desire, donations in memory of Joyce may be made to a charity of one's choice.
Joyce will be deeply missed by her family, friends and community. It's time for a peaceful rest. Vichnaya Pam'Yat - Memory Eternal.
