ALBERT JOSEPH EPHREM CANTIN
March 8, 1924 - July 27, 2019

With sadness we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father and grandfather. At the age of 95 Albert has now joined his son David in the afterlife.
Born in McCreary, Manitoba, Albert was the last surviving member of the Julienne and Amadee Cantin family, including his sisters, Marie and Elaine and his brothers, Wilfred, Clement, Maurice, Lionel, Joseph, C.P., Amadee and Noel.
The best words to describe Albert would be loyal and devoted. He was devoted to his country, his church, his job, his political ideals and last but certainly not least his family.
Albert is survived by his loving wife Marjorie, his children, Donna (Stephen), Ariel, Gerry (Donalyn) and Richard (Lesley) along with his grandchildren, Kristina (Caleb), Alec, Alanna, Shea, Jackson, Wyatt and Max.
Flowers are gratefully declined, but if you wish, a donation to a charity of your choice in the name of Albert Cantin would be appreciated by the family.
A time to celebrate the life of Albert has not yet been chosen but this will be announced as soon as this date, time and place is set.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • My sympathies to the family. I always think of Albert at Remembrance day. I will always remember Albert's stories when we worked together doing family histories. RIP my dear cousin. Angela - Posted by: Angela Durand (Relative) on: Nov 10, 2019

  • It was my good fortune to work along side Albert for nearly 20 years. He was a great team player with conviction, sincerity, and good humour. May you find comfort in the many pleasant memories shared during his life. Thinking of you all at this time. Sincerely, Gerry - Posted by: Gerald W. Moore (Colleague and friend) on: Aug 06, 2019

  • Albert and his brothers built the beautiful home that we live in today. Gerald tells a story of having to help get wires through small spaces in the foundation of the house when it was being built. He was about 3/4 years old. Later it was Albert who introduced Gerald to Agassiz and to skiing which became a lifelong sport. Albert officiated at Susan’s memorial and he and Madge would drop in to the house for many years even after Pam moved in. Pam recalls many happy times with Albert and Madge and their children, David and Donna especially at the farm, at the Cantin home in town and later at the cabin on 5th. He was always interested in what I was doing in my life and he seemed to think young. I loved his passion for activities like skiing. He will be missed but it seems he lived a long and full life. We send condolences to Madge and the whole family. - Posted by: Pam Little and Gerald Butterfield (Friends) on: Aug 03, 2019
