GLORIA A. PEDERSEN

Peacefully and with loved ones present, Gloria, aged 67 years, passed away on July 26, 2019, in Winnipeg, MB.
She was predeceased by her father Niels, various family members, and all of her beloved pets.
Gloria's education included a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Winnipeg in 1978, and a Diploma in Biological Technology from Red River Community College. She worked in various laboratories through out her life in both the biological and chemical sciences. Gloria was the Diamond Lab Technician to discover the first raw diamond from Canada's Northwest Territories, for her employer, Stornoway Diamond Mining Company. She retired from Winnipeg Transit in 2018.
During her life, Gloria travelled to many places, including Canada, U.S.A. and Europe, while also residing in Manitoba and BC. She was very loyal and devoted to her mother, sister, close family members, as well as friends, and shared many places and adventures with family and friends.
Gloria was a very creative, inventive and idealistic individual, and she took part in the fiber arts by sewing clothes, and spinning, knitting and weaving wool pieces. She also made several jewellery items and collected various art pieces.
Her passions included conservation and protecting both the environment and animals in it. Gloria cherished all of her animals including her dogs, Cory, Cookie, Shadow, Heidi, Sandy and Cheetie, doves, Little Kookaroo, Big Kookaroo, and the Little Female, her two foxes, both called Brownie, and her cat, Smokey.
Gloria will be dearly and forever missed by her mother Mary and her sister Glenda. She will also be missed by other close family members, including her stepfather Albert, and her maternal aunts, Carla and Lillian, and extended family members.
If desired, friends and family could choose to remember Gloria with a donation to the World Animal Protection, The Nature Conservancy of Canada or Darcy's Animal Rescue Center (Darcy's ARC, Winnipeg, MB.
A private memorial service for Gloria with friends and family will be held on a later date. Further information can be obtained at: email gapmb4@mymts.net.
