ELDON HENRY LEGARY
January 12, 1926 - August 1, 2019
In 1949, Eldon married Shirley Hoddinott, with whom he was privileged to have celebrated just over 70 years of marriage.
Eldon and Shirley lived many years in Fort Garry until 1996 when they moved to a condo at Riverside Estates. More recently they had moved to the Seine River Retirement Residence.
Eldon had been a barber at The Marlborough Hotel for 20 years, before joining Amway. He and Shirley had a successful business, met many friends and travelled on great trips with them.
He was a member of The Royal Winnipeg Rifles Band from 1949 to 1961.
His hobbies included rebuilding and flying small aircraft, as well as fishing and curling. He curled right up to the age of 91 in both the St. Vital and Pembina Senior Men's Stick Leagues.
He is survived by his wife Shirley; his children, Sylvia (Chuck), Brian (Kim) and Heather (Leigh); his brother Ken (Bev); and his cousin Kay McCort (Harold). He is also survived by his five grandchildren, two stepgrandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
A service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, August 12, at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 830 North Drive, Fort Garry.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Eldon may be made to St. Paul's Anglican Church.

My condolences to Brian and your family. I remember your Dad and Eldy the big old caddy. I also have one can left of wonder mist that he sold me years ago. Stay well - Bruce - Posted by: Bruce Kliewer (Co-worker with Brian) on: Aug 10, 2019
