GERMAIN OUELLETTE

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of our father, Germain Ouellette on August 9, 2019.
We wish to thank the wonderful staff at Parkview Place Personal Care Home, especially those on the fifth floor for their dedication and loving care of our father. We also wish to thank the staff at Seven Oaks Urgent Care and third floor for their kindness to our father in providing comfort during his final hours.
Germain was born in Spiritwood, Saskatchewan, on March 12, 1935. He moved to Winnipeg in 1951 and attended College St. Boniface. Germain was working for INCO Ltd. when, in 1964, on October 10, he married the love of his life, Theresa at St. Gerard Parish. They moved to Thompson where they raised their two children, Catherine and Daniel.
Germain's love of reading and learning was passed on to his children, as well as his unshakeable faith in God. Germain worked for INCO Ltd. his whole career, as well as numerous volunteer positions at St. Lawrence Parish. His quiet support and strength was felt by all that knew him. He could always be counted on to help out. When he and Theresa retired to Winnipeg, they enjoyed many a Sunday drive exploring the far corners of southern Manitoba. If you needed to know where the best pie was, just ask them.
Germain will be missed terribly by his daughter Catherine (Stephen), son Daniel (Van), sisters, Elise and Raymonde, brother Jean, many nieces and nephews, as well as many friends, including Lillian, Al, Harmony and Rowan.
Viewing will take place on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Desjardins Funeral Home, 357 Des Meurons Street. All are invited to attend. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Christ the King Parish, 847 St. Mary's Road. There will be no reception, but all are welcome to attend the interment directly following Mass at St. Boniface Cemetery on Archibald Street.

Love is not a destiny but a journey and through the journey we meet the face of God.
