RAYMOND ARTHUR HOURD
November 6, 1933 - August 19, 2014
It's been five years since your passing and you remain strong in our heart,
and present in our mind.
We cherish those moments
now more than ever.
That little smile and sparkle in your eyes
at the sound of I love you.
Your quiet nature ... a man of few words.
When you spoke we listened,
we knew your words were true.
You worked very hard and never gave up.
But at the end of the day you had time for simple pleasures, like a beer with the guys.
You were a student learning new things a teacher willing to share your knowledge.
We learned many things from you, Dad.
To be a true lover of the environment,a humanist, a philosopher,
a painter and a disciplinary.
We witnessed the value of being self-taught then pulled that into our lives.
And what you talked about,
you acted on, as well.
What's left for us are beautiful memories of a man.
A man who loved life, loved us and loved Mom, she was his Queen.
To you Dad, who we turned to ...
you always knew what to do.
We raise our glass of Brights 74
and follow you down the path.
This courageous path you created for us.
Miss youDarcy, Drew, Kerry, Kevin,
Christine and Glen

Truer words have seldom been spoken. I consider myself very lucky to be a part of this big, beautiful family. Many of my best qualities, I attribute to lessons learned over my summer holidays spent on the farm. Firm but fair, and never short on love. You all should be proud of the people you have become, I know he is <3 - Posted by: Jennifer Ptashnik (Family) on: Aug 20, 2019
