DEBORAH LOUISE HOSEY
Deb is survived by her loving husband Allen; sister Pam; and brother Fred.
Deb was born in Winnipeg on March 4, 1953, of her late parents Jim and Varrie Forman and always considered herself a true "St. Vital Girl".
She graduated from Glenlawn Collegiate, then earned a degree in Psychology from the University of Winnipeg. She went on to the University of Manitoba where she was awarded Certification in Secondary Education and Counselling and completed several courses towards an M.B.A. She was married for 46 years to her loving husband Allen Hosey.
Deb was very proud of her working career. From 1974 until 1985 she worked in university and college institutions as an Admissions Administrator and in 1985 she moved into Human Resources Management with Unisys Defence Systems. In 1989 Deb and Allen moved to Vancouver Island where she continued her Human Resources career in municipal government as Consultant or Human Resources Manager. In 2005 Deb and Allen returned to Winnipeg where Deb continued to work until her retirement in 2018.
Deb loved many people and many people loved her. For over 40 years she was a gourmet cook who regularly created great dinners for her friends. She was an avid reader and read over 200 books per year. Deb also had a life long love of cats. She frequently had two, occasionally three, cats at a time .... all loved by Allen and Debbie.
We will have a Celebration of Life for her in mid September. If you are one of Deb's friends, relatives or former colleagues, please email Allen Hosey at ahosey@shaw.ca for celebration details and to reserve your place.

My mother went to the Admissions Office at the University of Winnipeg in July 1977 to secure me admission as I was still in Ontario and met Debbie at the Admissions Office. I was admitted and Graduated with a B.A. from the University in 1979. At the time I was a recent immigrant to Canada and Debbie was a kind and gentle soul who gave me a lot of confidence and encouragement so much so that when I became a Superintendent of Education in 2006, I called her to tell her that I was married, had children and did well professionally and she said I never doubted you would do well. Those are the types of persons who should be working in Universities with foreign students. Although 45 years have passed, I have not forgotten what Debbie has done for me. My deepest condolences go out to Allen and her family and friends who will miss her very much and may Debbie's soul rest in peace. - Posted by: Oscar Correia (Former student at University of Winnipeg) on: Oct 05, 2022

Allen, Pam and Fred, we share you heartbreak of Deb’s unexpected passing. She was always my favourite cousin growing up. We loved to play with her Barbie dolls for hours. After Deb married Allen, we enjoyed many delicious gourmet cooked meals she spent hours preparing for us. We loved just getting together for the evening. Deb was a very talented lady in all she did. We loved her, her stories and her dinner parties. We are still in disbelief that she is no longer here. Deb was loved by everyone! We so appreciate the times we had with her and wish they weren’t over. You will always be remembered and so sadly missed Deb. Love you always and forever. Love Barbara and Dan, your favourite cousins as she called us. 💔💔😭😭❤️❤️. Hugs, prayers, and love to our cousins Allen, Pam and Fred. ❤️❤️❤️ - Posted by: Barb and Dan Kinnear (Cousin) on: Aug 18, 2019

"We weren't sisters by birth but we knew from the start... fate brought us together to be sisters at heart." As my oldest friend in Winnipeg, Debbie was also my confidant during troubling times. We were often seen frequenting each other's homes. We stood up for each other's wedding, and she was godmother to our son Christian. Deb will remain in our hearts and be dearly missed. We send our thoughts and condolences to Alan, Pam and Fred. Till we meet again, my FRIEND. I'll be talking to you. - Posted by: Beaulieu, Elaine (Trudel) and Tony (Sister from another family and spouse) on: Aug 17, 2019
