RITCHIE (DICK) J. MILNE
Dick was predeceased by his wife Thelma, son Raymond, brothers, Bob and Alec and sister Ruth. Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Linda and son-in-law George, grandchildren, Susan, Steven, James and Alan and their families, brother Don and sister Alice and their families, as well as many nephews and nieces and the many friends he made.
Dick was born in Kelvington, SK, February 22, 1922 to James and Florence Milne. Dick grew up on a farm. At age 17 he joined the Air Force to fight in the Second World War. He served two tours of duty flying in 52 missions. While in England he met Thelma Jenkinson; they married December 23, 1944. On his return to Canada, he worked as a truck driver and then as a butcher. After their daughter, Linda, was born, he and Thelma moved to Winnipeg where their son Raymond was born. He worked as a butcher for Safeway for 25 years. He became a meat inspector for the federal government, ending his career as head meat inspector for Manitoba. He served in the Air Force reserves for many years and was a member of the War Time Pilots Association. After his retirement, Dick had more time for his great passion, golf. He and Thelma enjoyed square dancing and travelling, Hawaii being a favourite destination.
The family wishes to thank the third floor staff (both E and W) of Riverview Health Centre. Your compassionate care is truly appreciated.
Cremation has taken place and in honour of Dick's wishes, the family will celebrate his life with a private graveside service, with interment to follow.

I learned of your a Father's passing by my 1st cousin Richard Gray. His mother & father Eva & David have both passed away now. My father Robert Milne Gray who is 93 yrs old lives at The Lodge on 4th in Ladysmith, BC. His parents were Charles Crombie Gray. & Annabella (Née Milne) Gray. My mother Eileen Catherine (Nee Eamer) Gray passed away in 2010. I’m happy to say I had the pleasure of meeting both of your parents at David & Eves 60th wedding anniversary in Winnipeg. I look forward to perhaps being in contact with any family members of our Family Tree!
