Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I worked in the crew office for many years and have called John for work many times. He was always pleasant and always accepted the call. He was a real gentelman. - Posted by: John Conolly (No relations i used to call John for work) on: Oct 11, 2019

  • Had a cottage across the street from John for 20 years. Learned so much from John over the years. He will be deeply missed. - Posted by: Thomas Harpley (Neighbor ) on: Aug 22, 2019

  • I recall Mr. Yarema as being gruff but kind...a good complement to Joan's sensitive and patient style. He built an amazing train set for my good friend Mike, whom I've lost touch with. We stole our first beer out of the basement fridge in his amazing hand built rec room. It was terrible. I recall his awful record collection which included The Purple People Eater, and a wooden radar tower he helped Mike build for a science project. I also was always impressed by how clean and tidy his workshop were kept and how he kept that amazing faux wood panelled station wagon running like a top. Mike and Kathy...I know losing a parent is hard...it's complicated...it reminds you of your own fragile and limited life span, but also of how important it is to live well and to treasure your children and loved ones. I was sorry to hear that your mom was gone as well...she was a supermom like my mom June 😃. I recall how she'd throw our wet winter clothes in the dryer and we'd watch cartoons while they dried, covering up under a mattress! Always a treat of cookies or something to be had too. I hope you have many great memories of your dad and that these few remembrances made you chuckle. Tim - Posted by: Timothy Cowan (Family friend) on: Aug 20, 2019
