CHARLES ALEXANDER MIKOLAJEK
November 19, 1932 - August 18, 2019
Dad was born November 19, 1932. He was the second eldest of five children born to Walter and Nelly Mikolajek. His family lived near Libau, Manitoba and later moved to Winnipeg.
Dad married the love of his life, Ruth, in 1953. They remained together for 42 years until we lost Mom in 1995. Together they had four children: sons, Ken, Tim, Don, and daughter Karen.
Dad leaves to mourn, his children, Ken, Karen (Eric) and Don, grandchildren, Samantha (Kevin), Justin, Jason, William, Stefanie (Adam), Tymara-Lee (Devon), and great-grandchildren, Avery and Mia. Dad also leaves to mourn, his brothers, John and David. Dad was predeceased by his wife Ruth, son Tim, father Walter, mother Nelly, brothers, Joe, Ed, and sister Ann.
Dad was a very skilled craftsman and home builder. He ran his own business and constructed many large, beautiful homes in and around Winnipeg, as well as commercial buildings in other parts of western Canada. He was certainly a golf enthusiast and booked his 6:00 a.m. tee time most Sundays at Kildonan Park Golf Club. He loved the trips he and Mom took to Las Vegas, Hawaii, California and to visit friends in southern Ontario.
A celebration of Dad's life will take place at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 24 at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Avenue, Winnipeg, Manitoba.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)
Ken and family, So sorry for the loss of your father. I have known Ken and the family since about 1966, it was good when I was about 20 (1975), I went to see Chuck. He enjoyed his whiskey and poker days, we drank and a few of us started playing poker, 5 card draw. I pulled a full house, bet 40.00, a lot of money in those days, guess what - Chuck pulled 4 of a kind. Many years later we laughed about it. He actually offered me the money back, just the type of guy he was. My memories of Chuck, Ruth, Ken, Karen, Tim and Don were great times. Rest in peace Chuck Todd Stewart, childhood friend - Posted by: todd stewart (childhood friend) on: Aug 29, 2019
Dear Uncle Chuck. I have many happy memories of all of our families gathering for dinners and laughing all day long. Remember cousins when we were told that we could not have any pop to drink as it was used for mixes for the adults. Time has separated us, but my love for all of you still is there. God bless. - Posted by: JoAnn nanson (Neice) on: Aug 26, 2019
Only knew Charles for a short time but he was a true gentleman with a great smile. So sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Valerie Kostelnick (Friend from Tuxedo Villa) on: Aug 22, 2019
