Offer Condolences or Memory

On August 21, 2019, after a long and difficult battle with cancer, Linda passed away at Seven Oaks General Hospital, with her immediate family at her side.
Linda was an exceptionally resilient, thoughtful and caring human being who loved her family and friends and made a positive difference in our common world. As an educator of young children, Linda created inviting and joyful classroom spaces. Linda believed in the power of gratitude for each day we are given.
As she often did, we wish to express our gratitude to her nurses and doctors for their care. We are also grateful to Father Sam of Holy Rosary Church for visiting Linda at home when she could no longer attend church.
A mass will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Church at a later time.
In lieu of flowers, you may donate to a charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I'm deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Mme Lee-Meiers. My sincere condolences to her family. Madame was my grade 1 teacher at Finney, as well as the kindergarten teacher to both my sisters. I remember when she had Sebastien, it was shortly after my year with her and when she brought him in to show all the students. I've bumped into her a couple of times in the last 10 years and one time, after I walked up to her booth at BP to say hi, she covered my dinner and waved with a smile as she left. She was one of the most compassionate educators I've ever met and her smile was so infectious. She has left a lasting impression on so many of us, and her departure is a loss to the world. Rest in Peace, Madame. - Posted by: Cody (Student) on: Sep 12, 2019

  • My sincerest condolences to Matt and Sebastian - you are both precious to Linda. Linda is a colleague who will offer friendship and help regardless of your background. I was a new teacher at Finney in 2010 next door to Linda. She is a cheerful, a soft spoken, and a kind person. When Linda found out that we were helping newcomers to Canada through the church she came to our house with stuff to give away to them. Linda, God sees your heart, how you love and care for others. “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.” ‭‭Revelation‬ ‭21:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬ "Our Sincerest Condolences" May Bolisay and Family - Posted by: May Bolisay (Colleague ) on: Aug 28, 2019

  • I would like to offer my sincere condolences to Linda’s family. I have in the past worked with her at OV Jewett and then later I subbed for her. She was always so welcoming and positive. The teaching community and the home community have unfortunately lost a caring, gentle soul who was making such a positive difference. - Posted by: Bev Eccles (Coworker) on: Aug 25, 2019

  • Dear Matt and Sebastian, I am deeply saddened to hear the sad news of Linda’s passing. I had the pleasure of teaching next door to Linda at Finney School. We shared many wonderful years together and memories with our Kindergarten students. Linda’s knowledge, passion and joy for teaching was immeasurable and an inspiration to me. Through many conversations, I know that her true happiness was her love for the both of you. Her loving spirit will always surround you and will live on in your hearts forever. Treasure the memories and life you shared together. Rest In Peace Linda! - Posted by: Heather Oliver (Friend and colleague) on: Aug 24, 2019
