SIGRID HEIDELINDE BROWN
May 8, 1946 - August 16, 2019
Sigrid (or "Siggie" to her family and friends) was an extremely hardworking, devoted and generous lady who loved music, all animals and flowers.
She had a very strong work ethic and excelled in the workplace. She worked for many companies during her career, the two largest being James Richardson and Sons and the Federal Government where she retired after 32 years - winning many awards in proficiency. She was an avid reader, devouring novel after novel. Cooking was also one of her passions especially on special occasions like Easter and Christmas.
Magdeburg, Germany was her birthplace and she immigrated to Canada with her mother at the age of six. Both could not speak English, but within six months she could speak it fluently.
Siggi was predeceased by her stepfather Walter Winter, her mother Lydia Winter, and also by her uncle Wally and his wife Bernice in Calgary.
She is survived by her husband Bob, married for 53 years, and her son Darren, her sister-in-law Mary Van Vliet and her husband Ed, also her uncle Wally's family - Karen, Ross, Darryl and Craig.
This planet has lost a beautiful soul far too soon. Darren and I will remember her forever.
Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Siggie's life will be announced at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Winnipeg Humane Society or to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would have pleased her, if you so choose.

My sincere condolences to Sigrid's entire family. Worked in adjoining department of the Federal government with Sig. She was always a pleasure to talk with, rarely was she in a bad mood or spoke lowly of others. Was terribly sad to hear she left us so soon. Rest in peace Sigrid. Was nice knowing you all these years. - Posted by: Craig Cottrell (Coworker) on: Aug 26, 2019

Dear Bob and Darren: I am so saddened to hear of the sudden passing of your wonderful wife and mother. Siggie and I found friendship while she worked for the Government and I worked for CPC in the same building. Her amazing quiet yet sincere caring were made evident in every aspect of her existence. I admired her strength, courage, selflessness, compassion and true friendship in every sense of the word. Another beautiful soul has gone on to become an angel. Wishing you peace and love in this time of sorrow. - Posted by: Patricia (Pat) Murdock (Friend) on: Aug 24, 2019
