August 8, 1959 – August 21, 2019

It is with profound sadness that we announce yet another passing, our dear wife, mother and sister, Carol, on August 21, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre, at the age of 60.
Carol leaves to mourn her husband Allan Schritt; daughter Charlotte; sisters and brother, Cathy, Elaine and Michael; nieces and nephews, Holden, Evan, Shawn (Erin), Lilly, and Cassandra, and many cousins and friends. Carol was predeceased by her parents, Anita and Robert; sisters, Christine, Lorraine and Pauline; and brothers, Richard and Rob.
Carol was born on August 8, 1959 in Kingston, Ontario, and grew up in East Kildonan, Winnipeg. She met Allan, and in 1995, they began their life journey together enjoying the fulfillment in their lives, raising a beautiful daughter Charlotte, many hours on the balcony sharing their days and a Caribbean cruise on the Star Clipper ship.
Carol truly loved life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends, playing Bingo and often having a lucky hand amongst her friends at the McPhillips Street Station. Carol was a master in the kitchen and loved serving people as she had done for years in the food services industry. At family gatherings, we looked forward to that perfect turkey, cabbage rolls and cherry cheesecake, a tradition that will be immensely missed. Carol was a beautiful soul with a heart the size of an ocean. She was a devoted wife, and her loves were Allan, Charlotte, and her cat Mocha.
Carol's sense of humour, wit, infectious laugh and kind heart will be missed by all that knew and loved her. The day Carol passed, a blush-coloured rose opened, a sign that Carol's spirit is still with us.
The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has come to comfort us at this time of great sorrow and need.
Cremation has taken place at Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, and a private service and celebration of Carol's life will be held with family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that you spend quality time with your loved ones. A donation can be made to CancerCare Manitoba for those who wish.

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • Carol and I had a friendship way back in the 80's, she was a great lady and although it's been years since I last saw her, I was saddened to her of her passing RIP Beautiful - Posted by: Pamela Mcewen(Wilson) (friend) on: Sep 03, 2019

  • Carol’s family in Fort Frances; Uncle Joe, cousin Michael, wife Sarah and family, cousin Susan and family all offer our most sincere condolences and sympathy at this most difficult time. Unfortunately circumstances prevent us from being with you to celebrate Carol’s life, but know that you’re all in our thoughts and prayers. We’re confident that Carol will live on in the hearts of those who loved her and knew her, especially Alan, Charlotte, Cathy, Elaine, and Michael. We also have fond memories of Carol that go back many years. The family of Uncle Robert and Aunt Anita have suffered too much. Too many have passed away before their time. We do not know God’s plan but we must trust and have faith in this promise. Please know that we share in your pain and are with you in spirit. - Posted by: M Susan Gervais Flemming (Cousin) on: Aug 28, 2019
