When I met Leah through a mutual friend, I felt as if I had already known her. We became close friends as if we were brother and sister. It was hard to breath when I saw this posting. She was a very strong woman and a child at heart. Carla, you know that now she's with her sister and they are happy and safe together. When I pass, now that I'm 70 and you make that change, I know we will see two loving smiles and light. She is and always will be my soulmate and I know I'm not the only one wanting to see her again. Just like the old song - I never thought I'd never see her again(on this earth). Now my soul is crying because she knew how many friends I had lost when I was young and she helped me understand it. I will always keep her memory deep in my heart. To Leah - I'll see you later sis. - Posted by: Harry N. Derkach (soulmate and friend) on: Mar 02, 2025

I am so saddened to see this. I had no idea of her passing. Leah has been on my mind a lot lately as I was trying to get in touch with her over the last few years. My last contact with her was in 2018 when she moved into her new house and I went to help her get the kitchen boxes all unpacked and organized and clean it. She had a great heart and was so creative! She was going to try to teach me guitar 🎸 I so miss you my friend, we had some serious conversations and I will never forget you. You are an angel now in a better place and free of pain. ❤️ Condolences to the family. - Posted by: Kerrie Zilkowsky (Friend) on: Jan 29, 2021

I am so sad to hear about this Karla. I remember as it were yesterday, growing up as little kids and being around both your girls. Always lots of laughs and always a ton of love. I miss those times, but I have such fond memories. Please know that we are thinking of you, and that our thoughts and prayers are with you. - Posted by: Shawn Ellen (Family Friend) on: Sep 30, 2019

Dear Karla, My heart has been breaking for you. Words are so insufficient; but at least allow me to let you know that you are a constant in my thoughts. MariLynn Steiman - Posted by: MariLynn Steiman (Old friend) on: Sep 24, 2019
