1928 - 2019

On August 26, 2019, at the age of 91, our beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away at the Boyne Lodge in Carman, MB.
Mom was born in Nij Beets, the Netherlands on March 2, 1928. In 1953 she married John Baron and they immigrated to Homewood, MB. Together they raised a family of six children and lived in Carman, Treherne, Miami and Winnipeg. In 2015, as her health began to fail, Mom returned to Carman to be closer to her daughters.
Mom spent much of her life caring for her family. A tireless worker she made the best of every challenge in life believing that her faith would see her through anything. She was blessed with many years of wonderful friendships with her church family and friends.
She is survived by her six children, Anne, Jerry, Audrey (Glenn), Alvin, Bob (Chauna), and Walter; as well as 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother, as well as many other relatives in the Netherlands.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband John, John's parents, son-in-law Jack Black, two brothers, three brothers-in-law, and two sisters-in-law.
A private family service was held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens in Winnipeg.
