THERESA (TERI) PITURA
(nee HOMENIUK)

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Teri on August 17, 2019 after a brief but courageous battle with cancer at the Riverview Health Centre.
Teri is survived by her loving husband Doug, her sisters, Ollie (Ken) and Diane (Bohdan), brothers, Richard (Pat), Orest (Lorraine), Gary (Susan) and Michael (Patti), nieces, Carrie (Bill) and Brittany (Eldon), great-niece Presley, aunt Allison, sisters-in-law Val, Carol (Peter), and brother-in-law David.
Teri was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Homeniuk, and brother Walter.
Teri was born on February 25, 1948 in Vita, MB. She attended Purple Bank School and left home at a young age to pursue her career in the restaurant business. She started work at Falcon Lake where she met Doug, who was the bus driver doing runs between Falcon Lake and Winnipeg. Teri happened to be his regular passenger on his trips between Falcon Lake and Winnipeg. They married on August 31, 1974 and were blessed to have 45 years together. Teri also worked many years at the International Inn and Windsor Park Inn until her health forced her to retire early.
Teri was a very compassionate and loving person to all, ensuring everyone was well taken care of, always making sure you left her place with a treat.
A special thank you to Palliative Care staff of Riverview Health Centre for all your compassionate care.
As per Teri's wishes a private interment has taken place.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made to Riverview Health Centre Foundation in her memory.
