MASAKO (MAE) KAWATA
She was predeceased by her parents, Takeo and Shizuko, as well as sister Kiyoko and brother Kazuo.
She is survived by her sister Yoshimi Takeuchi and nephews, Carey, Jeff and Trent, as well as sister-in-law Marjorie, niece
Kathryn, nephew Jerry (Alice), great-niece Kaylie, many aunts and cousins.
Mae was employed in the History
Department at the University of Manitoba
until early retirement in 1995. Her interests
included quilting, reading, travelling to
warmer climates, volunteering and spending time at Falcon Lake.
A Celebration of Life will be held on
Saturday, September 7 from 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Canad Inn, Polo Park, 1405 St.
Matthews Ave.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mae's memory to JCAM (Japanese Cultural Centre) 180 McPhillips Street, Winnipeg, MB R3E 2J9 or to a charity of your choice.
