EDNA ALLARD

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Edna Allard on September 1, 2019, at the Health Sciences Centre, Winnipeg, at the age of 56 years.
Surviving to mourn her loss, her mother Marcelline; husband Noel; son Jeremy (Shanley); daughter Robyn; grandchildren, Cameron, Shayla, Kaley, Xavier, Lexi, and Kailen; as well as numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.
She was predeceased by her son Shane, father Frankie Bruce, brother Douglas Bruce; in-laws, Gilles and Laurette Allard; sister-in-law Yvonne Bruce; brother-in-law George Allard; niece Oryanna Bruce; and nephew Steven Allard.
Edna was born and raised in St. Laurent, where she took her schooling and met Noel, the love of her life. They started their family after school and were married on September 18, 1982.
Edna took nursing at Red River College and worked in the health care field all of her life.
She spent many hours in hockey arenas following children's passions.
Her priority was the wellbeing of children and elders. Through World Vision Canada she sponsored children in third world countries.
Her biggest joy was the time she spent with her grandchildren, and spending time with her children around the campfire. No one ever left her house hungry.
She was recognized internationally along with her husband for their charity work, in many communities in northern Manitoba.
Memorial service will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Laurent Roman Catholic Church.

  • Edna was truly a beautiful person inside and out. Her caring and compassion for others was evident in all she did whether it was hold a hand, listen to an elders story or help one of her residents eat their meal. She always had time to care, truly care. I was a young nurse when I began working with her in long term care and I learned so much from her. Just watching how she treated others and the caring way in which she did everything made our PCH truly a home to all those residing there. It made all those that worked with her uphold a high standard of care not ever to be forgotten. My friend you will never be forgotten, the shoulder you offered, the tears you made fade with laughter and making us all accountable for our path in life. May you fly high with those angels and find the peace you so deserve. - Posted by: Angela Kotyk (Friend/ Colleague ) on: Sep 04, 2019
