JACK TAPPER

Suddenly, on July 28, 2019, Jack passed away at the age of 66.
Jack worked many years as a well respected chartered accountant and had the reputation of being brilliant at this occupation. During that time, he also volunteered his services to many organizations, including the Variety Club and the Children's Festival. After retirement from accounting, Jack took over and ran the family candy business, Progress Candy, until it closed.
Jack always had a passion for board war games, having over 200 in his collection, and for the thoroughbred horse racing, which, after retiring from accounting, he took up more passionately, and through which, he had many friends. He also loved classic movies and jazz and his knowledge of trivia and history was exceptional.
In the last few years, Jack suffered severe complications from diabetes and heart disease and, as his health deteriorated, this caused him to make some unfortunate decisions. He was always grateful, however, to his friends for their support and compassion.
A graveside funeral was held Friday, August 2 at Shaarey Zedek with Rabbi Matthew Leibl conducting a moving service. The eulogy was given by his niece, Gabrielle Doll.
Pallbearers were David Miles, Greg Miles, Sheldon Sturrey, Charlie Tax, Jason Doll and Edtie Doll.
In lieu of cards, a donation may be made to the Jackie Tapper Memorial Fund at the Jewish Foundation of Manitoba, 123 Doncaster Street, Suite C400, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3N 2B2, or to a charity of your choice.

Jack's pain and suffering is now over.
May he Rest In Peace.
