Condolences & Memories (7 entries)

  • Sure glad I phoned you yesterday (Sept. 24th) and so very sorry to hear of Mel's passing. He is no longer suffering and at peace. I am very grateful I was able to visit with you and Mel when we were back in Manitoba a couple of years ago. Also grateful that Janice was able to meet her godparents. My heartfelt condolences go out to you and your family. Keep strong. You know where I am if you need to talk. - Posted by: Anita Dey (Friend) on: Sep 25, 2019

  • My condolences Loretta, to you and your family. I always thought of Mel as my tallest cousin (this may or may not be true because I have some tall ones). I remember you and Mel visiting mom and dad and our family on their most important family life events. You are in my thoughts. - Posted by: Carol Brown (cousin) on: Sep 18, 2019

  • Our condolences to Mel's family. It is quite saddening to hear of the struggle he had with cancer. We had a few opportunities to chat on the occasions we met in recent years and I believe he went through a lot yet looked firm in his resolve to keep going. It was very thoughtful of Mel to visit my Dad a few years ago out in BC. Dad was sort of fond of Mel because he helped Dad on the farm one year when I was quite small. He actually drove our grain truck at that time according to Dad and managed to get stuck in the mud and then with a little patience got the truck out. We will keep fond memories of Mel.
