I'm so sorry for your loss Susanne and all of Bill's family and friends. Bill was a great friend to all who got to know him. He was fun to work with and fun to be with. One of my favourite times with Bill was golfing in Hecla and walking the fairways with him. As I think back now about that day I really appreciate the saying, "There's so much more to golf than the score!" I will miss Bill, more now than ever. My friend Bill was a kind and humble guy who lived his life on his terms. There were very few that could change his mind which is something I admired in him. My favorite recent Bill quote was "I am dying I am not stupid." Bill quietly did a lot of good. The Granite Curling Club was on it's last legs and Bill almost single handedly pulled it back from it's demise back to the thriving club it is again today. I remember Bill wiping tables as an example to the staff that he was willing to do anything they were asked to do. When I was going through some of my toughest times and had to spend long periods of time in hospital Bill was there to support me without judgement. I think that one of the only things Bill struggled with was spirituality but I think, toward the end, Bill figured out that this life is all about love and in his quirky way he had a lot of love for a lot of fortunate people. Bill, there is no doubt in my mind that you have the "Get out of this world" card which along with it comes a magical place in Heaven. Thanks Bill. Until we meet again. - Posted by: Trevor Porritt (Friend) on: Sep 12, 2019
