THERESA YEO
(PETROVICH)
November 1, 1954 - August 29, 2019
Left to cherish and honour her memory is her mother Emma; brothers, Louie, Tony (nieces, Kelly, Trisha, nephew Peter), and Pete (sister-in-law Charlene and niece Parker); aunt and best friend Pierra (Johnny, Rosa, Liana), her husband Jack, her two daughters, Jennifer (Martin) and Jaclyn (Bart); and of course the pride of her life, her grandchildren: Matteo, Bella, Charlotte and Sam. As well as numerous other family members. Theresa is predeceased by her father Peter, nephew Myles, and her uncle Frank.
Theresa's kindness, strength and especially her humour will be greatly missed.
Theresa lived for family. There was rarely a day that she didn't stop to have a coffee with her mother, or phone her aunt/best friend Pierra. She was married to her husband Jack for 40 years and she devoted her life to raising her daughters, being a proud stay at home mother. Theresa gave so much of herself so that her children would be raised with love, support and opportunities. Although she had a tough exterior, thick skin, and at times the mouth of a sailor, her soft heart always revealed itself in her playful teasing, her unwavering need to help out family, and even the gentleness and compassion she showed to animals - doting on and spoiling many family pets over the years.
However, there was no title she cherished more than that of "grandmother". Since the birth of her grandchildren almost all of her days were spent playing with them, getting them to and from school and babysitting. They became her full-time job and people teased that she rarely talked about anything else.
Her four grandchildren were the light of her life and she filled their childhoods with love, support and most importantly laughter.
Her presence will be missed beyond words, and the memory of her life will live on through the love of her family.
Funeral service will be held Thursday, September 12 at Holy Rosary Church (510 River Ave.): Condolences at 10:00 a.m., Service at 11:00 a.m.
Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made in Theresa's memory to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Manitoba.

I remember Teresa well although it's been about 50 years! She was a good friend in elementary school. The write up re obit was so Teresa! The first word that came to mind for me though was compassionate. I remember how she loved her brothers. I'm so sorry for your loss. - Posted by: Kathy epps (Childhood friend) on: Sep 15, 2019

We were so saddened to hear of Terry’s passing. We remember fondly all the great times we shared when we lived in Winnipeg. Evenings together that turned into weekend sleepovers. Playing games and cards until the wee hours of the morning. Watching our kids play. So much joy! We haven’t seen each other much over the years with all our moves but Terry was always in our hearts. Our deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved this wonderful woman. - Posted by: Barry & Marlene Brett (Friend) on: Sep 07, 2019
