EDWARD (EDDIE) MARTIN
November 30, 1932 - August 29, 2019
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 63 years, Pat, his children, Kellea (Mark), Karen, Miles (Lisa), and grandchildren, Madison and Brandon.
Ed was born in Clavet, SK to Sophie and Peter. He met and married Pat in Saskatoon, then moved for his work at Federated Co-op to Winnipeg where they started their family. Work had him travel frequently to Montreal, a city he loved. Also special to Ed was Miami Beach, where he embraced the ocean and sun with his wife and kids.
St. James was always home, and neighbours became family. Many attended his infamous New Year's Day parties. Ed loved people and a good story and found an abundance of both at Rae & Jerry's, Wally Woo's Marigold, and the Silver Heights. That was Eddie's place, and Jimmy and the gang gave him many fun times and happy memories. He also derived great joy from his numerous trips to Grey Cup, many of which included his son Miles. The last one he attended was in Winnipeg 2015.
Such a good life, but what made it great was his family; his deepest love, his greatest priority. He adored Pat and was so proud of his kids for above all else, being good and kind.
Thank you to all who showed Ed friendship throughout his lifetime, who made him laugh, and provided him with a good story.

Dear Kellea, Pat and family. We lost track over the past few years. I think about Madison, you Kellea, Mark and your family. I have Kelley’s grad photos. Such an honour to have received. Today was one of those days that I thought of “24 Hours 4 Kids” all the years back and Grandpa Ed. I have the very best memories from #202 - 2184 Burrard St. Strength and Courage as you travel, Love Moe - Posted by: Moe Buck (Friend) on: Jan 07, 2020

Affectionately known to me; Papa Ed was the best entertainer of his time! He was able to bring all friends through back door privileges. This included restaurants, private clubs, and special events. When out on the town with him, you never waited in line. He was known to throw the best parties and his friendships were golden. I earned the respect and love from his family 45 years ago and remain this way to date. My deepest sympathy to Pat, Kellea, Karen, Miles and family members who grieve this huge loss. - Posted by: Stefphany (Adopted daughter ) on: Sep 14, 2019

Dear Pat, Kellea, Karen, and Miles - so sorry to hear this! You folks were THE BEST kind of neighbors to have in Sunny St. James...till you ditched us for sunny(?) Vancouver. Still miss all of you! We wish you blessings of comfort and peace! Ed is in very good company now! Love to all of you. Gerry and Jeanie McAlpine - Posted by: Gerry and Jeanie McAlpine (neighbours) on: Sep 14, 2019
