EILEEN JOHNSTON
(nee ANDERSON)
She was raised near Starbuck and Fannystelle, and never lost her love for the Manitoba countryside.
Mom was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Mel, and one child Bobby.
Together Mom and Dad raised three boys, Calvert, Gordon (Dianne), and Douglas (Brenda), and they lived in several provinces from Saskatchewan to New Brunswick. Mom loved seeing our great country from sea to sea, but she loved her five grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren even more.
Mom's ashes will be buried in a private ceremony held by her sons where she will be reunited with her father, husband and the land that she loved. She always joked that her final statement should be "I'd rather be here than in Toronto!"
No service by request.

My dear sister, Eileen, I miss you so much and so do all your nieces and nephews, you had quite a few, with your brother, Orville's family and mine. Even though I know you are with, dad, mom, Orville, Mel, your baby son, Bobby and so many others who loved you, it still hurts you are not here with us. We will all miss you but content with the knowledge you are with your loved ones who have passed on before you. I know that the staff at Oak View gave you such good care but still it was not a good last few days for you and I know you would have loved to have thanked them so I'm doing it for you. Your smile and your beautiful expressive blue eyes will stay with me as long as I am here on earth. We all send our condolence to your boys and their families. Love you always. xo - Posted by: Doreen Buss (Sister) on: Sep 27, 2019

I will miss our weekly coffee visits we enjoyed together through the years. It broke my heart to see you so ill but we still held hands and we let each other know our love was strong. Those are the memories I will hold deep in my heart. You and I had something special, a bond that was shared just by the two of us and hard for some to understand. It was just you, dad and I that could understand what we meant to each other. We had many things happen to us through the years but we were always sisters. You left knowing I would miss you and would love you always regardless of what the world has in store for me. I know you will always be with me. I love you and miss you, my courageous sister. Say hi to dad. Love always your sister, Doreen. xxoo - Posted by: Doreen Buss (Sister) on: Sep 19, 2019
