GERALD MICHAEL DEVUONO
August 24, 1948 - September 16, 2019

Unexpectedly, but surrounded by his work family, Jerry Devuono went home to Jesus on September 16, 2019.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Shirley (Art), Lindsay (Steve), Ainslie (Devin) and Kathleen (Ken). Jerry will be sorely missed by his pride and joy, his grandchildren, Kyla, Jaylene, Nicco, Maddox, Piper, Sophia, Geneva, Cooper, Makayla, Isabella, Shepherd, Jubilee, Israelle and Zion. He also leaves to cherish his memory his mother Peggy Devuono; and sisters, Joyce (Tibor) and Joann (Manfred) and their families. Jerry will be deeply missed by his loving partner Margaret Gautron; and her children Chantal (Eric), Joel (Doris) and Adrian.
Jerry had a long career in sales and marketing and made a friend wherever he went. For the last four years Jerry was employed at Adesa Auctions where he truly enjoyed going to work every day.
He was predeceased by his father Michael (1997); and his daughters Sharon (2009) and Carla (2012).
We will be forever grateful to the staff at Adesa for taking such good care of our Dad and trying so hard to save him. Your compassion will never be forgotten.
Memorial service will be held September 21 at Calvary Temple, 400 Hargrave St. with a viewing at 10:00 a.m., with a service to follow.
Donations to Siloam Mission or Manitoba Mood Disorders gratefully accepted in Dad's memory.

Loved forever, missed until
we see you again.

Condolences & Memories (9 entries)

  • Sending my condolences to my Auntie Peggy and cousins Joyce and Jo-anne and their families at the passing of their beloved son and brother. It has been many years (too many years) since we last saw each other, but you have always been on my mind. Your father Mike was my mother Kathleen's (Kay) brother and my Uncle Mike. May all your wonderful memories bring you comfort at this sad time. Sincerely Your Cousin Carole Rickey (Habiluk) - Posted by: CAROLE RICKEY (Cousin ) on: Oct 13, 2019

  • Always the gentleman. I met Jerry when he came to my place of business (Peterbilt Manitoba Ltd.). Lovely man. My sincere sympathies. - Posted by: Carole Gauthier (Acquaintance) on: Sep 27, 2019

  • My Mom, Irma Marshall, was very impressed with the gentleman that was Jerry DeVuono, and she advised me when I started work at Weston Bakeries, to listen and learn from him. I did, and I learned a lot about how to do the various jobs there, but also how to carry myself as a gentlemen. I subsequently worked with his Dad, Mike DeVuono, and I'm a better man because of knowing these two gentlemen. I'm sure that my Mom would convey condolences and I would like to as well. Rest in peace my friend, the world is a better place because you walked among us. - Posted by: Greg marshall (Co-worker) on: Sep 22, 2019

  • My mom just passed on September 11, 2019. Up until recently, she lived in the same building as Jerry, on the same floor. Jerry was an amazing friend to my mom, Alice, and to me, with his huge heart and amazing generosity. Jerry and my mom shared a wicked sense of humour, and I have no doubt that they are kibbitzing with each other as they watch over all of us. The last time I spoke to Jerry was on Thursday, September 12th, to tell him that mom had passed. He was so kind and so compassionate in his words of comfort to me. I live in Halifax, and while Jerry and Marg and I were really just acquaintances, I did always look forward to seeing them both whenever I visited my mom. I am so grateful that Jerry decided to befriend my mom, and because of that I got to know him, if even just a little. Thank you, Jerry, and Marg. - Posted by: Nancy McKinnell (Friend) on: Sep 21, 2019

  • I was introduced to Gerry through mutual friends when we were teenagers, he was always fun to be around and an all around nice person to all he met. Over the years our paths would cross and he never failed to recognize me and stop me to chat and catch up. My condolences to his family, you meant everything to him. - Posted by: Lorraine Lorenz (friend) on: Sep 21, 2019

  • I first met Jerry when he worked over 50 years ago at Weston Bakeries with John who I would later marry... and Jerry was best man at our wedding. He was always lots of fun and loved to laugh. As years went by and life happened we lost touch until a chance meeting with my friend Margaret and him three years ago on a dance floor. It was so nice to reconnect with him and share memories of times in the past. My sincere condolences to the family and friends whose lives he touched. - Posted by: Susan Katanna (Friend from long ago) on: Sep 21, 2019

  • Rest in peace Jerry, I have very fond memories of our families hanging out. I will miss his sharp wit and humour. Condolences on behalf of the Hill Family, Vivien, Wally, Judith and Stacey - Posted by: Judith Hill (Daughter Shirley Remples sistter) on: Sep 19, 2019

  • I remember my first meeting with Gerry when I moved into my home in St. Vital. He showed up while my dad and I were doing some work on our home. He stayed, watched, visited and generally entertained us. Since then I have always cherished time with him. In the past few years I haven't been as close as I would have liked to be. It is coincidental that he passed on the same day as my father. Two men who I will always miss, remember and respect for their contributions while they were here. My prayers and condolences are with the family. If you need anything I will be there. - Posted by: Treffle Aussant (Friend) on: Sep 19, 2019
