MARGARET HELEN STARK WILSON
(nee GRIEVE)
She leaves to mourn her passing daughter Joy McCort; son Ward (Carmen); and her grandchildren, Carley (Kent), Logan (Heather), Jennifer, Heather and Andrew; also four great-grandsons and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband Bill; father Alexander; mother Janet; brother Allen; and son-in-law Gary.
Margaret was born in Winnipeg August 18, 1923. She was raised and attended schools in Morse Place and went to Lord Wolseley for high school. She met her husband Bill at the young peoples group at Gordon King Memorial United Church and they were married in September 1947. She worked at Manitoba Telephone System until she married as back in those days women could not work once you married. She rejoined the workforce after her children were older, working in the field of accounting. She ended her career at Arthur Anderson Accounting Firm rising to supervisor of the financial statement typing pool until her retirement in September 1984.
Margaret and Bill spent their retirement years travelling to Mesa, AZ in the winters and spending summers with family at the cabin at Wendigo in Lac du Bonnet. Mom was one of the instrumental members in developing the Wendigo Trailer Owners Association Co-op that we all still enjoy today.
The family wishes to thank the third floor staff of Beacon Hill Lodge for their kindness and compassion in her care over the last six years. She was truly happy and comfortable there.
Cremation has taken place and a private family interment will take place, as per her wishes.
