It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mariette Leclerc on September 30, 2019, at the age of 96, in Williams Lake, BC.
Mariette was born on February 24, 1923 in Ste. Amelie, Manitoba to parents, Marius and Corine (nee Chevron) Roche.
She married Philippe Leclerc on November 4, 1941 in Ste. Amelie, MB. They had 10 children: Jean-Philippe Leclerc, Annette (Guy) Ramsay, Yvette Lachance, Odette (Adrien) Dheilly, Eliette Verhaeghe, Gerald (Yvonne) Leclerc, Georgette (Bernie) Pinette, Paul (Valerie) Leclerc, Ginette (Shawn Lang) Leclerc, and Jean (Rachelle) Leclerc. She had 28 grandchildren, 43 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was raised in Ste. Amelie, spent most of her life in St. Eustache and spent her later years in Ste Anne MB. She recently moved to Williams Lake BC to be with her children.
She was predeceased by her husband Philippe, her parents, Marius and Corine Roche; her son Jean-Philippe; her sisters, Marie-Jeanne (Sister St. Jean d'Avila), Florence Shingles, Gertrude Desjardins; and brother Jean Roche. Her son-in-law Guy Ramsay, daughter-in-law Yvonne Leclerc and granddaughter Diane Leclerc.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church in Williams Lake, BC with interment in St. Eustache, MB at a later date.
