IRENE VIOLET MEDA
June 28, 1935 - September 27, 2019

With great sadness Mom passed away after a very short illness. She was diagnosed in August 2019 and spent her remaining time at home with her loving family. On September 26, 2019 she entered St. Boniface Hospital Palliative Care Unit and peacefully died September 27, 2019.
Predeceased by her husband Joe and son Allan.
Dearly missed by her children, Bev, Daren (Julie), Chris (Jackie) and Susan, her grandchildren, Derek (Britt), Neil (Kaleigh), Dennie (Daniel), Randy, Amanda, Brittany, Jordan, Jacqueline, Joey, and her special nieces, Phyllis and Louise; also seven great-grandchildren and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Born to John and Susana Vass on June 28, 1935, younger sister to Eva Reeves (Vass).
Mom loved flowers, gardening, baking and family. She loved to hold "tea" in the afternoon with lots of baking or a "small lunch" whenever someone came to visit, her Hungarian roots showing.
During her long work life she had a variety of jobs. She shared many fun and fond memories of working at the Odeon Drive Inn, but her true passion was decorating cakes. Fun cakes for all reasons and seasons, especially beautifully decorated wedding cakes to the delight of many a lucky bride to be.
When Mom retired, her and Dad, along with their lifelong friends Ruth and Walter, went on numerous bus trips throughout North America. She loved her European trip she took with her son Daren and his family.
At Mom's - always lots to eat, games to play, helpful advice and laughter.
In keeping with Mom's wishes a private family Celebration of Life to take place at Wojcik's Funeral Chapel.
