JEAN FRANCES BARNES
(nee BLANCO) (MANSON)
February 28, 1929 - September 14, 2019
Jean will be lovingly remembered by her children, Larry Manson (Laurette), Carol Pasieczka (Dennis), Darlene Lecuyer (George), Darryl Manson (Linda), Donna Tallaire (Rick) and Keith Manson; 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; her brother Donald Blanco; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close extended family. Jean was looking forward to welcoming in the upcoming months two new great-grandchildren and her first great-great-grandchild into our family.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Edward (Ted) Barnes (2017); first husband Gordon Manson (2008); parents, Elmer Hurley and Mary Blanco, and four siblings and their spouses.
Jean will be greatly missed and will be remembered for the kindness and care that she bestowed on all those lucky enough to have crossed her path. She did have a heart of gold!
Special thanks to management, all staff and residents of Bridgepark Manor in Steinbach; longtime friends from Paradise Village; and all those who assisted Mom in her desire to live independently after the passing of her husband Ted. As well, thank you to the doctors and staff at Seine Medical Centre, Ste. Anne, MB and the Bethesda Regional Health Centre for the excellent medical care provided to Mom.
Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at Avonlea United Church, Domain, Manitoba with Pastor John Wiebe and Reverend James deBeer officiating. Lunch and slideshow to follow at the community hall. A private interment will take place in the Avonlea Cemetery.
Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations in Jean's memory may be made to The Salvation Army, CancerCare Manitoba or to a charity of one's choice.
"We love you Mom!"
