ANDREW (ANDY) CHAMPAGNE

It is with great sadness that the family of Andy Champagne announce the passing of our dad. Andy passed away suddenly, at his home, September 28, 2019 in Brandon, MB at the age of 93. Andy was born in Giroux, MB August 30, 1926.
He was predeceased by their first son Robert (1947), his loving wife Carmel (Kay) (1982), two brothers, Les and Gus, four sisters, Adelaide, Leontine, Rita and Doris, two brothers-in-law, Arthur and Leo, and sister-in-law Annette. He leaves behind six children, Ron (Jen), Roy (Brenda), Diane (Doug), Gary (Tannis), Johanne (Fred) and Gail (Bruce), two sisters, Grace and Anna, 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Andy owned numerous general stores in south eastern Manitoba, before joining Canada Safeway, at which time we moved to St. Vital, St. Boniface and then he transferred to Brandon in 1960. He retired in 1974. During his time in Brandon he had made many friends with customer and business colleagues. Andy and Kay moved to Maple Ridge, BC in 1978 to enjoy retirement. Andy moved back to Brandon in 2015 and resided at Victoria Landing. He had a passion for cooking and entertaining for family and friends at their cottage at Brandosa Beach. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
