RON ZABORNIAK
October 21, 1938 - October 2, 2019
He is survived by his loving wife Karen, of 55 years, son Mark (Arlene), their children, Alexandra, Stephanie and Jim of Burnaby, BC, son Todd (Teri), Todd's sons, Spencer, Holden and Hudson of Parksville, BC, Teri's daughter Tenille (Greg), their children, Drayden and Kora, Teri's son Tyler (Shelby), brother Ian Zaborniak of Lac du Bonnet, MB and brother and sister-in-law Glen and Judy Romanow of Lee River, MB.
As a young man Ron travelled across Canada, working at various jobs, including the construction of the D.E.W. Line from 1956 to 1964.
In 1971, Ron, Karen and their two young sons moved from Lac du Bonnet, MB to Nanoose Bay on Vancouver Island where he built houses for 25 years.
Ron took up wood turning as a hobby when he retired in 1994.
He is fondly remembered by his children and grandchildren for his story telling, his woodworking talent (especially wood turning) and his work ethic.
Our heartfelt gratitude goes out to Dr. Dodo of the Caledonia Clinic, the Oceanside Healthcare nurses, the Oceanside Hospice Society and Susan Coen and Dr. Meghan Towers of MAID. They all showed such exemplary care and compassion.
No service by request.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Oceanside Hospice Society would be appreciated.
