ARTHUR JAMES SUTTON, CD
1934 - 2019
Born in Barwick ON, he served with PPCLI the majority of his career. He was sent to Korea in 1953, was with the ICOC in Vietnam 1963, was with the Airborne Regiment of Canada during the FLQ crisis. He served two tours in Cyprus with 2PPCLI. Upon retirement, Art worked as a security guard at the Manitoba Legislature Building and later as a member of the campus police force at the University of Manitoba.
Art is survived by his wife of 61 years, Linda; son Bob (Shelley); daughters, Patti (Rob), Jackie (Jay); grandchildren, Caity (Lance), Calder, Justin, Jordyn (Kyle), Donna (Ben); great-grandchildren, Bowen, Emersyn, Cody, Samantha; sisters, Jackie, Barbara (Terry); sister-in-law Marg; brother-in-law Tom (Colette); and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, Gladys and Laurie; sisters, Elaine, Lauris Ann, and Jeanne; brothers, Ron, Willie, Bobby and Gerald.
The family wishes to thank Kiwanis Courts, The Getaway Club, and the St. James Stroke Recovery Group for making his health issues bearable. A special thank you to the staff in Urgent Care and 2 East at Concordia Hospital for your compassion and many acts of kindness.
According with Art's wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no service.
