LAIRD W. CRAWFORD
October 20, 1940 - October 1, 2019
Life has been good to us both, for we have been partners for 52 years and married for 47 plus years. It is hard to leave all that behind, but who knows what lies ahead? Is there another dimension beyond this one; will my spirit be free to roam like a wandering Zen monk?
Predeceased by dad Dave and mom Betty; survived by brother Frank (Christian). Note Gilles; "Sometimes, good things come to those who wait".
To my friends (you know who you are) and all of Erma's great family who accepted me into theirs, it was a pleasure to know you all! The old song that says, "So long, it's been good to know you, but I've gotta be driftin' along" (Woodie Guthrie) is appropriate here. I must thank the kind members of the MAID team who were so professional in providing the 'peace of mind' to endure all that had to be done before my final but dignified 'exit' from this most undignified condition. Thanks also to the doctors who provided back up for my request; they shall go unnamed. To my good brother Frank, sorry I disappointed you by not letting myself be 'saved' for I have never been a 'believer'. As I stated previously, I have no fear about what, if anything, is about to come.
To my good buddies, in remembrance of me, tip one up, spark one up or both, your choice, life's too short, so enjoy it while you still can. Adios, amigos!
Cremation has taken place. My ashes will be scattered at a later date according to my wishes. No service being planned.

Erma, so sorry to hear about Laird's passing. I will miss seeing his face and talking with him when we ran into each other. He always took the time to say a few kind words to me. I hope he rests peacefully. My sincere condolences. - Posted by: Gaylene Anderson (Cousin) on: Oct 29, 2019

Erma and family please accept my sincere condolence. I don’t need to tell you how much I liked and accepted Laird for the man he was. He was a man who wore his convictions proudly and I respect him for that. Laird and I may have different opinions about the journey he is on but the big fella knows Laird to be a good man. That is the best tribute I can give. Kelly - Posted by: Kelly Sharpe (Friend) on: Oct 19, 2019
