BERNARDINE FRANCES MCCULLOUGH
(nee MCGUIRE)
November 3, 1937- October 10, 2019
Mom was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Bernard; son Anthony and her husband Malcolm (Mac) of fifty-three years. She is survived by her remaining four children, Maryann, Doug (Kim), Robert and James as well as her last sibling Wilfred McGuire of Grand Manan, NB. Also left to cherish her memory are her numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends.
Mom was born in St. Stephen, NB and grew up in Chamcook, NB. She was the eldest of five children. Growing up was difficult for my Mom and her family. As a result, she started working at the age of 11 so she could buy her own school clothes and assist her family. She did this until she fell in love and married our Father on July 14, 1956 in NB. Mac travelled extensively throughout his six years in the army. They ended up in Winnipeg until he resigned. They travelled back to New Brunswick, but settled in Winnipeg permanently, eventually settling on a farm in Headingley, where they lived for 45 years.
Our Mother was always a hard worker, even when she was not well, as she has had many health problems over the years. She was always head strong and determined. She loved her family immensely, as well as her friends, church and flowers. Our Mother was a devoted Christian, spending many years involved in the choir and other church events. She always taught us to forgive, but don't forget. (There was always a lesson to be learned). Mom will be greatly missed by all that knew her by her unconditional love, caring and non-judgmental attitudes, which were a testament to her Christian character.
There will be a service at Victory Baptist Church, 3248 Portage Avenue at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 21, 2019 with Pastor Jerome Pittman presiding. An interment will be held in 2020 for family members only.
"Rest in Peace Princess."
